Who's attending this Jamboree?
Who's planning to attend this event in 2008?
Anyone already been to this event? Any recommendations for trail selections?

I have been to this event a couple of times in the past. The best trail at this jamboree in my opinion is the trail they call "Worser and Worser". If they still have this trail this year, you definitely want to sign up for this trail.
Just getting to the trail can be a little intense for your passenger. The paved road gets a little narrow in places and it drops off very quickly in some spots. Once you get to the trail, you begin a climb up the mountain that will not end until you reach a spectacular overlook at the top of the mountain and it will take you all day to reach the top. You have some rocks and rock ledges to climb on the way up and the trail gets harder and harder as you work your way up the trail, thus the name "Worser and Worser".
I would recommend a couple of inches of lift and a few inches larger than stock on the tires, but I have seen stock jeeps with open diffs make the climb with some help along the way. There are lots of side stops on this trail if the group has time to stop that are worth seeing. Your best chance of see these are on Friday, but don't be surprised if you need your headlights to get back after the trail ride ends. If you do this trail on Saturday, you will might miss some of the side trips, depending on how much trouble the group has getting up the mountain. After all, on Saturday there is the great dinner and prize drawing that you do not want to miss.
The overlook at the end of the trail is worth any pain and suffering you may have encountered on your way up the trail. You are several thousand feet above the valley floor and I have seen small planes flying below me in the valley from this view point.
The other trails are also pretty good at this jamboree, but for me, it is hard to beat the "worser and Worser" trail.
Side note: If you get ther early on Thursday or are looking for something to do on sunday before your drive home, I suggest taking a few hours to see Cumberland Gap State Park, it is worth the drive. It takes about 30 minutes to get there and the fall colors and water fall in the park are worth seeing.
Will be there, going on worser on friday if can sine up in time. Do not know about Sat. yet, will see when I get there.
This will be my third year at this jamboree. I have not been on Worser yet. We were thinking about it but last year a cj rolled on this trail so it kinda shys one away. I have a 2.5 inch lift with 31's locked front and back (still a baby jeep but not stock). Will this be enough to tackle Worser? Our favorite trail is bride rock so far.
I leaving in a few mins to head there. If your locked on a 2.5 lift you good for wurser. Just keep your head on str8 and youll be fine. Ill be in a Yellow o6 Rubi. see you there !
