Please give us a "back" button
Why does this site open up a window without the navigation buttons? The other user tools would be nice to have, but mostly I miss having a back button. I can't tell you how many times I've skipped looking at something because I knew that once I'd finished viewing it, I'd have to go all the way around to get back in to where I was, rather than just being able to hit the "back" button. Thanks.

Why does this site open up a window without the navigation buttons... just being able to hit the "back" button. Thanks.
Great question/suggestion... its basically because I forgot to enable them for the pop-up (dooh), so thanks much for the reminder. I just re-enabled them, as well as increased the browser window for Interact a bit, and you should now have full browser button functionality when opening it from JJUSA. Give it a test from the main site (http://jeepjamboreeusa.com/) and then drop a note if it doesn't work as expected or you'd like any additional changes on it.
Thanks so much for the quick reply and action. However, I'm sorry to say that the browser buttons are still not working on pop-ups, at least not on my computer. Am I missing something?
No prob... although I have it working OK here and wasn't able to duplicate the "no back button" error, lets do the following test to see what's up and get you set:
- Browser
Make sure you have the latest browser version installed on your computer... FireFox or Safari... along with the latest updates. You should also be able to use Internet Explorer, but I haven't tested that yet (will do soon). Meanwhile, you might consider the other two browsers as they'll probably give you faster/better performance. - Cache
Clear your browser's cache & cookies. On FireFox and Safari, it's often under the TOOLS/CLEAR PRIVATE DATA... or SAFARI/RESET SAFARI... menus. - Close/restart
Quit your browser and restart it, just to make sure all the changes have taken. - Main Site
Visit JJUSA's main site at http://jeepjamboreeusa.com/. - Pop-up
Click the "interact" section link just below the main navigation tabs at top.
The above procedure should pop-up a new window complete with browser navigation buttons, etc. I went through the same process and will post my own screen shots of that in a bit so you can see the normal "back" arrows at the top-left of my Interact pop-up, along with the drop-down there showing the previous page history (in that case, my trip from home page to your Feedback post).
Can you give the above a try and let me know what results you get?
Update: scroll up to your original post (above) and click on the JPG screen shot I attached to see how it looks on my computer (iMac with FireFox 3). I also tested with Safari, IE testing shortly.
OK I think I tracked it down
-- after testing in Internet Explorer on Windows XP, I also had the "no back button" scenario. So I just now changed the main JJUSA pop-up code from JavaScript to regular _blank new window... testing on both iMac and Windows XP now shows regular browser button behavior, as well as regular pop-up behavior based on your browser settings (e.g., it will open in a new tab if that's how your browser preferences are set).
To test:
- Clear your browser's cache (see above for details).
- Visit the main JJUSA site.
- Hit your browser's "refresh" button (often F5 on windows, or see your browser's menu).
- Click the "interact" section link just below the main tabs near the top.
Give it a go and let me know?
