Located 20 minutes south of Elko are the majestic Ruby Mountains, referred to as the “Yosemite of Nevada.” Trails range from rockcrawling in the washes to scenic dirt roads reaching the heavens at 10,000 feet. Some of the more difficult trails follow dry creek bottoms and washes, and have a tendency to change from one vehicle to another because the rocks won’t stay put! Wheeling in the “high desert” of Nevada can be both a leisure experience for the novice driver and a formidable challenge for the most experienced veteran. Tow hooks mandatory.
